Academic and Career Success after Three Years of Unemployment
Three years ago, I was unfairly dismissed. I believed God had better plans for me, so I walked away and started applying for a better job. I didn’t know it was going to take some time. As time passed, I started getting depressed. I would cry myself to sleep.
Some days, I would ask God why I was that much of a sinner who didn’t deserve the good things in life. I have always lived my life for the Lord, stumbled here and there, but I would always find myself back in the Father's loving arms. I thought that was supposed to put me on top of the breakthrough list, and I was frustrated when it didn’t happen.
Then I started listening to Pastor Prince, and the Word changed my life. I learned that we receive from God not because of our performance but because of Jesus. His grace is unearned and undeserved. His love for us is beyond comprehension. When we try in our own strength, He goes to rest, and we fail. So I started resting in God, listening to the sermons on YouTube every day, and partaking of the Holy Communion.
One day, I decided to move and apply for a master’s degree in Europe, and I got the placement in a day. I moved to Europe and left my family in Africa. It was a leap of faith as I had no idea how I would afford the fees, but I just followed the leading of the Holy Spirit. A month after I moved, I had an interview with a multinational company. I had been confessing that I am the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus, that I stand permanently in the favor of God, and I am like a tree planted by the streams of water.
The managers liked me, and I got the job. The offer was more than what I had imagined. I can afford to pay my fees and be left with enough to sponsor my husband and kids to join me. How amazing is my God! He was still not through with us. After three years of unemployment, God gave me a new song. He has given me joy again. I am a testimony that God will do what He says He will do!
I have been passing my master’s studies with distinctions. I also got a promotion at work after I sat for one of the most difficult professional examinations and passed—all in one year. It was not easy studying while working full-time and preparing for the professional exam. But I remember Pastor Prince preaching about how Jesus achieved so much in a day and yet did not get burned out. So I claimed that for myself, declaring, “As He is, so am I,” and I managed to excel in every area till even my classmates were amazed and asked how it was possible.
I could apply for a scholarship because I had obtained the highest GPA in my class. I applied, and God gave it to me. I have never been a top student before. I was usually a little above average, but never have I scored the highest marks in almost all my subjects. It’s all because of Jesus and His finished work on the cross. Now, everything He deserves, I get!
Thank you, Pastor Prince, for making the true gospel available to everyone. I tune in online every Sunday, and it has changed my life and our family’s. God bless you!
