Some time ago, after considerable prayer, I felt led to leave my high-pressure job to start a small business. It was a stretch as I ended up earning one-sixth of my original income. Thankfully, my family always had enough to pay the bills. Praise God!

A year later, I felt led to look for a new job. Unfortunately, the jobs that were offered to me were stressful and required extended time away from family. Only one of them stood out for me—it was exactly the kind of job I had prayed for.

Sadly, during my 3rd interview, I realized I did not have the skillset the company was looking for. I told them about it honestly and they thanked me for my time. I began to feel as if my 15-year work experience had only served to open doors to high-stress, high-anxiety jobs.

On top of that, my family had moved into my childhood home that had been unoccupied since my grandparents passed away. We received notices to pay off the house loan but I couldn’t secure a bank loan due to my self-employed status. This put extra pressure on me to find a job and I became frustrated and depressed.

Weeks later, I still had not received a single job offer. My recruiters also told me it was impossible to find the kind of job I wanted.

While walking with my wife one night, I ended up wallowing in discouragement and argued with her. Finally, I fell on my knees at my driveway in tears and said, “Lord, I know You hear me. You have to do something. I don’t know what to do.”

Then I saw this rainbow out of nowhere. It wasn’t there during our walk and it hadn’t even rained! I chuckled as I thanked God for acknowledging my prayer. That night, I stayed up to send a prayer request to Joseph Prince Ministries.

By lunchtime the following day, I received phone calls for 3 job opportunities! And by 5pm that day, I received another job offer—the one that I really wanted but did not have the skill set for. The company said I was at the top of their list of candidates due to my personality and experience. I also found out that the owner and employees are Christians!

I accepted the job offer the following day and have been employed since. I’ve finally found an enjoyable career and work environment. I praise God for this new job every day. I’m so grateful for each paycheck I receive and have begun tithing. He has shown me that He can bless us beyond our experiences and understanding. The things that are impossible with man are possible with Him!

Moreover, my home has been saved. I’ve become a better person after experiencing a personal walk with Jesus and learning how to steward His provision in my life. I’ve also had the opportunity to bless a friend by recommending him one of the job offers I’d turned down. Indeed, God has blessed many areas and people in my life with just one move in my career!
