Blessed With New Job Despite Unfavorable Odds
It was not easy for me to switch to a different job industry after being in a teaching bond for five years. I prayed about it for a year. I asked God to just provide me with a decent job in another industry before the end of my bond, knowing that there’s a risk of me getting an entry level job or taking a pay cut. I began job-hunting for a year and a half, and went through many ups and downs during the process. I was rejected by some companies and some were unsuitable. I became worried and frustrated.
One day, I received a call from a recruitment consultant who recommended me for a role. I was put through five tedious rounds of interviews. I did not have much hope, believing that only one candidate out of many would be chosen. I also felt unqualified, as I did not have much experience for that middle-management role.
However, by the grace of God, all five rounds of the interviews went smoothly. My recruitment consultant managed to negotiate for a better package with awesome benefits and flexible working hours. I signed my new contract just before the end of my teaching bond and the remuneration was exactly twenty percent more!
I’m really grateful for this blessing from God. I could not have done this alone as the odds were not in my favor. This provision from God has surpassed my expectations. I was reminded of the verse in Leviticus 6:5 that states, “He shall restore its full value, add one-fifth more to it…”
I want to encourage believers who are stuck in a difficult situation to be patient and have the full assurance of faith that God will provide. He doesn’t want to just give you the ordinary; He wants you to experience the unimaginable!
God parted the Red Sea for Moses and the Israelites to escape from the Egyptians. He made the earth stopped rotating for Joshua so that he could have his army attack their enemies with the sun at their backs. Lazarus was miraculously raised from the dead and David slew Goliath when it seemed impossible. When you rest, God works. All praise to God!
