Delivered From Cigarettes And Drugs By God’s Grace
Though I was born in a Christian family and I believed in Jesus, my mind was set on worldly things. I used to love listening to heavy metal music and was deeply influenced by the heavy metal bands and their lifestyles. This led me to consume alcohol, drugs, and cigarettes, as well as live an unedifying lifestyle.
Eventually, I failed to graduate, failing not one but three papers in my examinations. Even though I didn’t graduate, I was still blessed with a very good job. However, I quit that job because of the fear I had regarding work.
I was heavily addicted to smoking cigarettes and my urge to smoke would intensify especially when I was tense. I knew smoking would damage my lungs but that never stopped me from the habit. I just couldn’t stop no matter how much I tried and the longest period that I had gone without cigarettes was just a mere twenty-four hours.
To cut a long story short, I was living a life of a loser and I felt completely worthless. Yet, I had always felt that I could achieve righteousness through my own deeds. This made me do the wrong things even more because I was depending on my own works. As a result, I was under a lot of mental stress.
However, through reading the Word of God and listening to preachers like Joseph Prince who explain about the grace of God, my life changed. I now know that everything was achieved at the cross, and there is nothing that my own deeds can achieve. Now, I rest in the grace of God with a blessed assurance of Jesus by my side in all that I do.
By the grace of God, I recently finished my Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing. I also got a job the same week of my final examinations, with a very good pay for a fresh MBA graduate. I truly believe that God is going to bless me more in the coming days to come!
Now, I don’t even think about cigarettes or drugs! I am successful and abundantly blessed with all the good things from my heavenly Father, and I will have many more good reports to share.
I love You, Jesus!
