Divinely Placed Out Of Harm’s Way
I am a student studying in London, England. In my entire life, I had never ever pulled an all-nighter, but on 22 March 2017, I did it for the first time.
I had also been surviving on coffee for the previous week and had only 13 hours of sleep in total due to a very hectic schedule. That morning, I submitted my essay at 11am after staying up the whole night. I had intended to wake up at 1.30pm to go to Westminster Bridge at around 2pm to film some scenes for my school project.
But my planned trip to Westminster did not materialize. I slept through my alarm—something that had never happened to me too. When I woke up at 4pm, I received a text from a friend asking me if I was fine. I went online to check what he was referring to.
Apparently, a terrorist attack had taken place at Westminster Bridge and the attacker had mowed people down using a car before embarking on a stabbing spree. As I read the news and heard the police sirens and helicopters flying outside my university halls, I had the goosebumps knowing that I could have been on that bridge when the attack happened.
Later, when I spoke to my mum about it, she told me that she had been praying and declaring Psalm 91 over me daily. I am so thankful for my mother’s prayers! I thank God for keeping me safe and putting me at the right place, at the right time.
