Experiencing The Benefits And Joy Of Praying In Tongues
Pastor Prince, I have been watching you preach on Trinity Broadcasting Network for years, and have read your books and listened to your messages on CDs.
At the start of this year, my church and other churches that I know of taught a series on spiritual gifts, especially tongues. I had never been able to pray in tongues and it bothered me. Praying in tongues felt difficult and beyond my reach as I didn’t understand it.
So I got hold of your CD messages on tongues and the gifts of the Holy Spirit to learn more. After listening to one of your CDs, I learned how we sometimes make tongues a form of work and self-effort by believing that we need to work hard at praying in tongues, when in reality, it’s all about letting go and allowing the Holy Spirit to pray through us.
What a revelation! I felt as if a veil had been lifted from my eyes and the enemy could no longer have me believe that tongues was not for me.
Near the end of your CD message, you invited everyone to speak in tongues. By faith, I opened my mouth to speak and out poured a language unknown to me. I was amazed! It was a peaceful and wonderful experience with nothing to fear, “do,” or think about.
It also humbled me to tears as I realized how God takes away our burdens and makes things easy, even for prayer. He is so wonderful!
Since then, whenever I’m tired and praying feels like a burden, I would pray in tongues. Doing so frees me from having to think of what to say, and yet allows me to pray perfect prayers (Rom. 8:26–27).
Pastor Prince, I am so thankful for your ministry and how your sermons point us to Jesus who is loving, wonderful, sweet, and loves us passionately. Thank you for allowing the Holy Spirit to work through you to bless and transform all who hear your messages.
