My 101-year-old mother is in a nursing home not far from my mobile home. Before Hurricane Irma arrived in September 2017, I sent a prayer request to Joseph Prince Ministries for protection.

As the hurricane approached, I partook of the Holy Communion to enforce the covenant of having been redeemed from the curse of the law (see Gal. 3:13). I also declared and claimed God’s promises in Psalm 91 and 107:28¬–29. The latter says, “They cry out to the LORD in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, so that its waves are still.”

I left my home to ride out the storm with my mom. Hurricane Irma arrived with high winds and driving rains all throughout the day and night. Although the winds subsided the next day, there remained occasional gusts of strong winds.

When I returned to my neighborhood, I was awed to find that 90 percent of the homes had remained unaffected while the rest only had very light damage! My mobile home also appeared unscathed, as if nothing had happened! This was amazing because some of the sidings of my patio screen were already loose and needed repair.

It was as if Daddy God had put His hand of protection over my home and made it inaccessible to evil forces. I believe He poured out His kindness, goodness, and tender mercies onto my mom and me because of His love for us. All praise, glory, and honor to Christ Jesus, our Redeemer! Hallelujah!

Later, I had to clear out my mom’s apartment of 30 years because she had to go on permanent assisted living. It was emotionally agonizing for me to go through my family’s precious mementos and I was only given a small time frame to complete the move.

With little time for sleep, I kept listening to grace messages on the Joseph Prince app. I would even listen deep into the night till 4am. Finally, everything was done in time, including the moving of furniture on Christmas Eve. Thank God for His grace and favor.
