Family of Six Protected during Gas Leak
One morning at about 2am, I was awoken from my sleep and decided to pray. I also wanted to drink water from the fridge, something I don’t usually do because it means I will have to use the washroom later and that disturbs my sleep.
So I got up to get the water with my twenty-month-old son in my arms. When I opened my bedroom door, I smelled gas. It was so strong I ran to wake my husband immediately.
Both of us ran to the kitchen to find that our house helper had mistakenly left the oven gas turned on. The entire kitchen smelled of gas. We quickly opened all the windows in our house as we had shut them for the night.
God is good. Every part of our house except for our rooms was filled with the gas. Had He not woken me up, we would have died from inhaling the poisonous fumes. Or our home would have been engulfed in flames once our helper started to prepare breakfast on the stove.
I’ve been studying Pastor Prince’s daily devotionals for a year. I remember reading his devotional titled Fix Your Eyes on God’s Unshakable Word. It quoted Philippians 4:19—“God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
God’s protection promises in His Word are truly unshakable and I believe He indeed supplied our need for protection that morning. We are so grateful to Him and can’t thank Him enough for delivering and preserving our entire family of six. Thank You, Jesus.
