Father Recovered from COVID-19 Complications
On January 4, 2021, my parents began to feel cold and started coughing. After taking medicine, they felt better so we didn’t go to the doctor. On January 8, my mom lost her sense of smell so we decided to go to the doctor to take a COVID-19 PCR test. The results came back positive for both my parents and me.
At first, we were quarantined at home since the hospital was full, and they only treated severe cases. However, on January 10, my father’s condition took a turn for the worse. He got weaker, with an oxygen saturation at around 93–94 percent. We called the hospital but there was still no room available. We felt hopeless and decided to pray and believe Jesus had already borne our sickness on the cross and by His stripes, we were healed.
The next morning, we went to the hospital again. Praise God, there was one room available for my father so they began treating him that day. The doctor said the virus had spread to his lungs and his blood had thickened, so he needed to be hospitalized until his lungs were healthy, which could take weeks or months.
My mom and I were devastated by the news. Then, my sister sent me Pastor Prince’s sermon Face Life Without Fear—Secrets Unveiled in Isaiah 53. In the sermon, Pastor Prince said that in the Hebrew, the root of the Hebrew word used for “healed” is rest. We decided to rest, not worry about my father’s symptoms, and declare, “As Jesus is, so are we in this world.” Together, we prayed and declared this every day.
After 7 days of treatment, the doctor said my father’s lungs were getting better and the tissue had begun to grow back. He also said my father could be discharged from the hospital the next day.
My parents and I are now free of COVID-19 having tested negative for the virus. Praise the Lord and thank you, Pastor Prince and team, for your prayer support and sermon related to healing for our family.
