Freed From Bondage To Legalism, Seeing Savings In Bank Account
I have been a Christian for nearly fifteen years and was actively serving God in my local church as a home care leader. Initially, the blessing and favor of God were evident in my life, but soon, things got bad.
I began to fast more, break generational curses, and sow seeds through giving. I did this until every dime was gone! I went further and started selling off my possessions so that I could continue to sow seeds to please God and get back into His much needed favor. Soon, everything that was worth cash was gone!
As I continued in my quest to access God’s favor and blessings through more giving, I went as far as borrowing to do this. I even misappropriated funds in my care in order to “sow enough seeds” that will bring about a “bumper harvest.” This got me into serious trouble with painful consequences. I realized I was in the wrong as I had believed that continuous sacrificial giving was my only way to accessing God’s blessings and the key to enjoying the good life God has prepared for me.
By God’s gracious intervention, I stopped borrowing but still continued giving through my own resources. Yet, my life continued in a downward spiral—void of joy, peace, and health.
In December 2013, I stumbled upon Pastor Prince on Trinity Broadcast Network. I had heard him preach before but never really paid attention to his messages. This time, I decided to listen intently and that became the turning point in my life. Teaching after teaching from Pastor Prince brought me to the truth of God’s love for me, His irrevocable blessings, and His favor upon my life. I learned that these are free gifts from God that I can never earn, no matter how much I try.
I have been revived! Grace has set me free. I now know that I am blessed and highly favored, not by what I give but because of what He gave. He gave His Son for me and has with Him freely given me all things (see Rom. 8:32).
Now, I see some savings in my bank account after all expenses have been paid—something that has never happened in the fifteen years of my Christian walk. This is much more than mere restoration! Now, I still give, but not because I feel compelled to.
Thank You so much, Jesus! And thank you, Pastor Prince.
