Healed Of Diverticulitis And Emotional Hurts
I had been going through symptoms of menopause for about five years and decided to get surgery. At the same time, I was trusting God to see me through very stressful family situations, such as planning for a baby shower with a relative.
About two weeks before the baby shower, I had to go into the emergency room due to extreme pain in my abdomen. It turned out I had diverticulitis—an inflammation in the colon—and had to be warded for four days.
I was in so much pain and could hardly remember any Scripture, but I knew God loved me and would see me through this. I kept declaring His presence in my situation and willed my body to line up with His Word.
Thankfully, I did not have to undergo colon surgery. Jesus healed me and I know it is a testimony to my family. Moreover, I did not experience any menopausal symptoms after that. The Lord also helped me pay a part of the hospital bill through an insurance company. God is good.
In hindsight, I believe my physical ailments were a result of carrying hurts, disappointment, and bitterness in my life. I thank Jesus for healing me just by me looking to Him and remembering my righteous identity in Him.
Today, I can glory in the miracle He gave me. And if the enemy tries to fill my mind with doubt and unbelief, I simply remind him of Jeremiah 30:17 which declares that God has restored my health and healed my wounds through Jesus’ finished work on the cross.
Pastor Prince, thank you for helping me see Jesus in every area of my life!
