Hearing Restored After Taking Holy Communion

I wish to share a testimony on the healing of my son, Gabriel. On August 25, 2013, we were told at a visit to the doctor that Gabriel’s the tympanic membrane in his left ear had ruptured and he had complete hearing loss in that ear. The doctors discovered that his right eardrum was also partially ruptured and told us he could be permanently deaf.

We were prescribed antibiotics, but were told that it was not 100 percent definite that hearing would return. The next day, during my morning prayer, I read Pastor Joseph Prince’s devotional for the day: Healthier, Stronger Each Day. The highlighted verse was Acts 2:46—So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.

I had initially spoken with my wife about fasting during the week for Gabriel’s healing. However, after reading the devotional on the breaking of bread, I told my wife that I would partake of the Holy Communion daily with our son instead. So every time my son had to take his antibiotics, we broke bread and I told him to receive the wholeness of the body of Christ, and that whatever ailment in his body had already been nailed to the cross on Calvary.

We also took Gabriel to the elders of the church. He was prayed for with holy anointing oil as is written in James 5:14—Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

We returned to the doctor for a review. To the amazement of the doctor, Gabriel had a new membrane in his left ear and a healed membrane in his right and could hear. All glory and honor to God!
