Lips Healed Of Chronic Inflammation
I was diagnosed with cheilitis, which is inflammation of the lips. This condition plagued me since I was fifteen (I’m now twenty-two). I needed to apply lip balm constantly or my lips would become very dry.
A few months ago, my condition worsened. The skin of my lips became very thin. It was very dry and would crack and bleed whenever I smiled, talked, ate, drank, or brushed my teeth. The skin would then peel off and new skin would grow back. Then this painful cycle would repeat itself.
The dermatologist could not find the cause of my condition. She prescribed me a steroid and gel to apply on my lips. Aware of the side effects of steroids, I applied it only once and prayed that I would not need it anymore. The condition of my lips seemed to improve but the results did not last.
I was suffering and felt desperate. I was afraid that other people might see my lips so I avoided talking to people unless necessary. It came to a point when I could not use any more lip balms and gels and I had to apply oils. Even though I felt so bad and miserable, I continued to look to Jesus and to partake of the Holy Communion every day, declaring, “By Your stripes, my lips are healed. As Jesus is without cracked and dry lips, so am I in this world.” When I saw some improvement in my condition, I would praise the Lord, “Thank You, Lord, for the thirty-fold recovery. I believe for sixty-fold, then one hundred-fold recovery!”
During a healing session at one of the Sunday services in New Creation Church [in Singapore], I prayed for the healing of my lips. In the days that followed, the condition of my lips improved and kept improving until my lips werecompletely healed! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
God has restored my lips with new skin that is fresher than a baby’s. It no longer cracks or peels off, and does not hurt anymore. Now I can put on a big, wide smile and say, “Thank You, Jesus!”
