Lost Bag Of Memorabilia Found Two Months Later
A few months ago, my seven-year-old daughter went for her swimming examination. It was a very crowded event because different swimming schools were participating at the same time.
She passed her examination and in our excitement, we left behind a bag that contained her swimsuit, swimming shoes, extra clothing, and other personal belongings. By the time we realized it, four hours had already passed.
I notified her swimming instructor and he called back two hours later saying he had looked everywhere but the bag was nowhere to be found. Over the next few days, he asked other instructors and parents about it but none of them had the bag. This saddened my family because most of the items in the bag were bought on our first family trip to Aruba. It felt like precious memorabilia had been taken away from us.
Two months later, my husband and I heard Pastor Prince’s sermon titled, How To Pray Powerful Prayers. In the message, he shared a testimony about how his daughter’s lost dental retainer was found—even though it had been left behind in a busy restaurant for two hours.
When I heard that, I felt sad as I wished I had listened to the sermon before we lost the bag, then I would have known what to do. Nevertheless, I prayed, “I know it’s impossible for us to find the bag by now, but nothing is impossible for You. Can You still find it for us?”
The following night, I received a call from another swimming instructor who said, “We have your bag.” I was very shocked to hear the news and said, “Come again?” He replied that a woman had brought back the bag just a minute ago.
Not only that, it turned out she had called the day before to inform him about the bag—this was the same day I had prayed! Later, I also found out that she wasn’t even there on the day of the examination. But hey, we don’t need to understand how God works behind the scenes for our good. All praise to Him!
