Marriage Restored, Enjoying Better Job And New Home
A year ago, after constant arguments and disagreements, my wife and I separated abruptly. I came home from work to discover that she had moved away to Milwaukee, Wisconsin—over 800 miles from where we lived. I was distraught, frustrated, and confused. However, the calm presence of the Holy Spirit reassured me from within that everything would be all right.
During the first couple of weeks, I had no idea where my wife was staying. I felt discouraged and had no idea how things would work out but the Lord was my help. He showed me His ways and wisdom on being a man, husband, and father, and my relationship with Him grew tremendously.
I also spent more time reading His Word, listening to sermons, praying, going to church, and serving in church. I would tune in to Pastor Prince’s preaching on Trinity Broadcasting Network and read his Daily Grace Inspirations in my e-mail.
Over time, the Lord showed me that His Word is truth and power, and that it never fails. He shined light on the promises in His Word regarding marriage and the blessings He had for me. He also helped me understand that He is the foundation—the solid Rock—on which I could build all things in my life. He opened my eyes to His victory on the cross, and graced me to receive all that He had provided through His finished work.
Eventually, my wife and I made contact again, and God prompted me to go and look for her personally. By that time, I had not seen her for nearly three months.
Without her knowledge, I booked a flight to Milwaukee where she was staying with her mom. God arranged it such that we reconciled, talked about our marriage, shared our feelings, and listened to each other. We also prayed with each other and continued to do so every day on the phone after my return home to Mississippi.
Interestingly, on my first day back at home, I received an e-mail from her hiring manager. I had applied for a job at her workplace just a few weeks before (when I discovered she had been working there and living with her mother). The e-mail informed me of an interview for a much higher-paying and higher-ranking job than the one I was having.
I began to confess in faith that the job was mine in Jesus’ name. I prayed about it and believed I had already received it. Less than a month later, the company paid for my flight back to Milwaukee for the interview and I was hired shortly after.
It was GOD who saved my marriage, pointed me in the right direction, and gave me success. He has blessed me with all that I have today, simply because He is a good God. It was none of my effort, but all of His wonderful, amazing grace in Christ Jesus!
My wife and I may have had separated for nearly six months, but we’re now reunited in a new home and are even expecting a baby—another restoration from the Lord after a miscarriage during our second year of marriage. God is so good, He’s beyond great! No words can truly describe just how excellent He is.
All thanks and praise to God Almighty for His perfect love!
