No Longer Addicted, Life Transformed
Sixteen years ago, I graduated from college and embarked on a promising career as a registered nurse. However, by the age of 28, I found myself ensnared in the clutches of addiction, struggling with both drugs and alcohol. This tumultuous path eventually led to the loss of my professional license and imprisonment.
During my time in prison, a glimmer of hope emerged as inmates were given access to tablets. Introduced to the TBN network, I stumbled upon the life-changing messages of Joseph Prince. Through his grace-filled teachings, I discovered the liberating truth of being a new creation in Christ.
At the age of 35, I began my journey to recovery. Previous attempts with traditional Narcotics Anonymous/Alcoholic Anonymous programs were unsuccessful, as I struggled with the idea of declaring myself an addict. However, through the grace message, I learned to identify myself as a King-Priest, a beloved child of God, and the disciple whom Jesus loves.
Daily communion and immersion in grace-filled messages became my lifeline. Some may say I am a bit overboard but I find immense joy in listening to these messages all day long. From a penniless and jobless past marked by involvement in undesirable activities, I have been elevated to the position of director even though I was applying for the position of secretary—truly a testament to the transformative power of grace and truth.
I am proud to celebrate 1 year of sobriety. The voices that once haunted me are now replaced with the assurance of being loved by God. I have been set free from the chains of addiction, I no longer need medication, and even obesity has been defeated.
Through the stability found in righteousness, I continue to discover the perfection of that one act of obedience on the cross 2,000 years ago. I realize that the more I listen, the more I begin to see the superabounding grace that is always here for me because I have His favor. I am eternally grateful for Pastor Joseph Prince and his team, who have been instruments of God’s grace in my life.
In closing, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire grace community. Thank you for being vessels of God’s love and grace and for contributing to the profound change in my life. May the grace message continue to reach and transform many more lives.
