No More Trace Of Barrett’s Esophagus
In 2009, I was diagnosed with Barrett’s esophagus, a pre-cancerous condition in which normal cells lining the esophagus are replaced with abnormal cells. I also had several polyps in my colon. As my family has a history of cancer, we were worried and fearful of my condition.
After my diagnosis, I continued taking different proton pump inhibitors. These are medications to reduce stomach acid production and I was already taking them prior to being diagnosed. I was also told that I would need to have the same diagnostic test done yearly to monitor my condition.
When the one year mark came for me to go through the diagnostic test, we couldn’t afford the procedure that I was told to have. We felt that instead of believing that God would provide the funds for the procedure, we should just rest and not be anxious because during that period, I was experiencing a new level of faith as my wife and I had then been watching Pastor Joseph Prince’s daily broadcast, Destined To Reign.
So my wife and I prayed and decided to believe that Jesus has taken any disease meant for me upon Himself and put it away at the cross.
In June 2013, I underwent the same diagnostic procedure. As the nurse administered the anesthesia, I went to sleep in the arms of Jesus in total peace. I woke up half an hour later and went to a room to wait for the outcome. The doctor came in and told me that he could find no trace of Barrett’s esophagus. My throat looked completely normal and I had no polyps either.
God’s love is awesome. Jesus’ work on the cross was perfectly executed, accomplishing exactly what the Bible said He did. All praise to Jesus!
Before hearing the gospel of grace, our first reactions to bad or disappointing news were to be fearful. Though we still have some fears now, my wife and I have learned not to react, but to act by speaking words of encouragement. God had renewed our way of thinking over the last few years. Instead of seeing life as a series of struggles, we are seeing life as a series of grace triumphs.
Since being told that I no longer have Barrett’s esophagus, I still take the medications I have been prescribed. I still feel the acid reflux at times. But I know that my body is perfectly healthy because of Jesus’ work on the cross and that any discomfort I feel is the enemy’s attempt to trick me into accepting this false symptom as evidence of a problem. I will continue to speak words of faith and believe for this to pass too.
I hope that this information will encourage others to believe that Jesus has taken all of their sicknesses and diseases and put them away at the cross. Thank you, Pastor Prince, for telling the world about all that Jesus has done for us. I encourage your ministry to keep on speaking God’s grace to both the body of Christ and to the world.
