Prayer To Visit Goa Over Answered, Protected From Robbery
In August 2012, I stumbled upon Pastor Prince’s sermon online. From then on, I began to truly understand salvation and I experienced a renewal of my mind, thanks to Jesus.
In April 2013, my younger sister was going to have a week’s holiday in Goa. I had been praying to see Goa but at that time I was jobless. A month later in May 2013, God provided a job for me in Colva, Goa, where I worked for two years.
I had wanted to visit Goa as a tourist but God gave me the “much more” by giving me the chance to work and live there. It was a time I thoroughly enjoyed and saw the Lord bless me in terms of favor, finances, and even safety.
In November 2013, a colleague and I were staying together in the office accommodation that was provided. One night, a heavy rain caused the electricity to go off. I was so tired that night I did not read my Bible or pray before sleeping. I just recited a few verses of Psalm 91 and dozed off. Early the next morning, I was awoken by my colleague’s shouts—she wanted to know why I had taken out all our belongings and left them in the balcony.
I told her I did not. We realized then that our apartment had been broken into. But by the grace of God, the robbers did not take even a single penny. They had ransacked the suitcases and cabinets but did not take anything. All praise to Jesus that even though we were under the effect of chloroform, the robbers did not touch us or harm us in any way. Later that same morning, we heard news that our neighbor was robbed too and he lost Rs65,000 (about US$1000).
It is as Psalm 91 says, “a thousand may fall at my side,” but no harm came to me. Praise Jesus!
