Protected from Road Accident
I have been quoting Psalm 91 every day for quite some time, declaring its truths over my family and myself. I work as a home health and hospice nurse.
One night, while on call, I received a call at about 1.30 am and had to drive to a patient’s home some 60 miles away. The road I was traveling on was a 4-lane highway with a cement blockade in the center to divide the 2 directions of traffic. I was behind a slower moving semi-truck, so I got into the passing lane to go around the truck.
As I was beside the semi-truck with the cement blockade on my left, I suddenly saw headlights coming straight toward me. I slammed on my brakes and began honking. Gripping the steering wheel, I tried desperately to move back over to the right but couldn’t as the semi-truck was now right beside me. The lights were coming closer and I had nowhere to go, being hemmed in by the semi-truck and the cement blockade.
What happened after that was a blur. The next thing I remember was driving slowly behind the semi-truck trying to process what had just happened. I have no further recollection of that car driving toward me. I realized the Lord had just saved me from a very near accident.
This incident was on my mind the next few days. One day, the devil tried to minimize what had happened with some natural explanation. Later that day, I read a Joseph Prince devotional. It was about the Lord’s protection. It spoke of how the devil put traps or snares in front of us to harm us, but the Lord will deliver us. I thanked the Lord for confirming that He protected and delivered me. I continue to quote Psalm 91 every day.
