While driving home one night, my wife and I were listening to Pastor Prince’s CD sermon titled, The Way Of Escape In Every Trial. We had been listening to it in our car over the past two weeks and had partaken of the Holy Communion together before leaving our home.

As we were approaching a cross junction, a taxi in the opposite direction quickly made a turn to our left even though we had the right of way. The car behind it did the same after hesitating for a second. At that moment, it seemed like an accident was imminent as we were heading right toward the second car. Somehow, I was able to react quickly and swerve to the left. We ended up on a lane that was running in the opposite direction. Thankfully, there was no accident.

After we got down from our car, a pedestrian who witnessed the incident said my swerve was excellent and thought I was a skilled driver. He also said that if my reaction had not been quick enough, I would have collided with the second car.

I knew it was not my driving skills that saved the situation because I only had six months of driving experience. It was the Lord’s faithfulness in protecting me and my wife. I believe He had taken over the wheel in the nick of time and swerved my car to safety.

Like the sermon we were listening to, Jesus had indeed made the way of escape in this trial. He always has our best interests at heart and that includes our protection and well-being. Thank you, Pastor Prince, for preaching truths about Psalm 91 and the Holy Communion. All praise and glory to our Lord Jesus for His all-day love and protection!
