Protected from 3 Near Accidents
One recent night, I woke up at 1 a.m. and struggled to fall back to sleep. I felt something in my spirit, and sensed that something bad was about to happen that day.
I remembered I had a few books to read, so I went straight for The Prayer of Protection by Pastor Joseph Prince. I started reading the book throughout the night, and though I felt tired, I couldn’t sleep. So I continued reading and began to meditate and confess Psalms 91. My attention fell on the part where Pastor Prince wrote about accidents, stating that God can protect you from any harm, be it a disease or an accident.
When my alarm went off, I got out of bed to prepare for work. Psalm 91 was the only thing occupying my mind at that time. As I stepped out to catch a taxi, I was meditating and proclaiming Psalm 91, especially the part that says the Lord is my refuge and my fortress and no harm shall come near me.
Here in South Africa, we use mini-bus taxis, which can carry a maximum of 16 passengers. I got into the taxi and kept meditating on Psalm 91. The moment we entered the freeway, everyone realized how recklessly the driver was driving. I could see everyone was scared. The lady sitting next to me started praying for a safe journey.
As we were halfway down the freeway, the driver swerved out of his lane. When he tried to return to the proper lane, another car came up from behind and drove neck to neck alongside our taxi. For about 10 seconds, we were in immediate danger. Any mistake could have caused us to hit the side of the road, collide with the other car, or even lead our taxi to spin out and be hit by other vehicles. Thankfully, the driver of the car next to us slowed down, allowing our taxi to move on, even though he was in the right and our taxi driver was in the wrong.
I looked around and saw everyone holding on to their seats. I remained calm, knowing that God is my refuge and my fortress, the one who delivers me from any harm, and there was nothing to be scared of. But that was not the only incident. We experienced another 2 near-accidents. Everyone felt relieved when we finally arrived in town, and I just thanked God for protecting us until we arrived.
I would like to thank God for using Pastor Prince. Since I started listening to the message of grace, my life has not been the same. Trusting God has been so easy. That day, God was speaking to me about what would happen, and I read the right book at the right time. Thank you very much, Pastor Prince!
