Last June, I was involved in a roller skating accident. As I was falling, my husband tried to keep me up. But when I hit the floor, he fell on top of me and bent my neck forward. I heard a crack and blacked out.

When I came around, I couldn’t move my neck or my upper body. Both my C2 and C7 neck discs were fractured, and my ligaments were severely torn. I could not move my neck, but praise Jesus, I could move my toes and fingers.

My husband, who could not ride with me in the ambulance, met me in the hospital. He was full of tears and apologizing profusely for the accident. We both agreed to receive the gift of no condemnation and to fix our eyes on Jesus and the finished work on the cross instead.

Praise Jesus, there was no paralysis of my body. The doctors and nurses said it was a miracle I wasn’t paralyzed. Nurse after nurse, doctor after doctor, kept asking me to move my toes and fingers because they said when those bones are fractured, it causes paralysis.

As fear tried to creep in, we continued to look unto Jesus, pray in the spirit, and partake of the Holy Communion. I was put in a neck brace for the next few months to heal the fractures. In that time, I received the Lord’s love and encouragement through the Scriptures and through prayers and meals from our GRC community.

On the hard days, when it was hard to pray, I would pray in the Spirit. And when I wanted to sing and worship but couldn’t, I would pray in the Spirit. All I could muster were groans, sighs, and tears, but things were shifting in my favor.

A month later, in July, Pastor Prince declared complete healing in the neck in his service. I stood up and began to move my neck, receiving the healing for myself. Two weeks later, new X-rays showed complete healing of the fractures.

The nurse was surprised that I was healed so quickly, considering the fact that my bones had been fractured. Because of this, I could share Jesus with her, encourage her to read Psalm 91, and declare this prayer of protection over her son in the military.

Not only was I completely healed, but soon after, I received a letter from the hospital finance office stating that a charity write-off had been applied to my hospital bill. Hallelujah!

Today, no one can ever tell I was ever in a neck brace. Thank you, Pastor Prince, and thank you, my beloved GRC community, for lifting the name of Jesus above every other name, sickness, and aliment. He reigns above them all!
