Quick Recovery For Mental Disorder
In November 2013, my daughter experienced episodes of condemnation and depression that led to several suicide attempts. When she was in her 2nd year of her Mass Communication course, she came into bad company. That led her to use drugs and her life went downward from there. We did not know what to do and eventually had to call the police and the ambulance services to intervene. She eventually ended up confined in a mental institute and was diagnosed with psychosis schizophrenia.
When the doctors told us that she would be confined for at least 6 to 12 months, it broke my heart. The family was also devastated. With Christmas approaching, we did not know what to do, except to trust Him and rest on His promises.
I decided to partake of the holy Communion and pray in her room every day for her quick recovery. I also anointed the walls with oil and I even placed a CD player at her window and set it so that it would play worship songs every night. I didn’t think it would be possible to, but even in those trying moments, we all slept well. It was as if the Lord cradled us to sleep.
Christmas came and my daughter was allowed to spend the season with us. She was still taking her medication, which sometimes caused her tongue to stick out. But we were just glad that she was home.
When January 2014 came, the doctors said that she was ready to be released from the hospital, just 2 months after she was admitted. Even the hospital staff were amazed with her quick recovery. Her doctors told us she still needed to continue taking her medication for at least 2 years. But in the following year, her dosage was reduced to just a quarter of what she used to take. Hallelujah!
While in hospital, my daughter was eager to go back to school and finish her studies. Soon after her discharge in January, she prepared for some important examinations and passed them. Now she is waiting to receive her diploma in Mass Communication!
My daughter has found new friends in the church she’s now attending and is considering taking classes for water baptism in autumn. She is also able to live independently and even has her own apartment, which is one floor below ours.
We are so thankful to you, Pastor Prince, that you obeyed your calling to preach the gospel. Truly when the gospel of Christ is revealed to His church, the gates of hades cannot prevail. We pray that our Abba continues to bless you and your family.
