Received New Job Despite Lack Of Experience
I resigned without a job in February 2015. Not sure of what I wanted to do next, I trusted God to open the right doors and close those that were not right for me.
I went for many interviews, but the jobs just did not seem right for me. I grew discouraged and felt lost. A part of me just wanted to go with whatever was available. Yet, I decided to keep trusting God.
Then, I received a call to attend an interview for a job for which I had no relevant experience. However, I felt a sense of hope and I wanted the job. Before I went for the interview, I took the Holy Communion and committed the situation to God. I cleared the interview and was asked to go for a second interview. Praise God!
The second interview was to be conducted via an overseas video call. I was going to be interviewed by the project head. I panicked and started to do research for the interview. As I had no experience, I tried to build my knowledge within three days and soon grew fatigued and doubtful. I decided to leave things to God and went for a holiday after the interview.
When I returned, I went online and found a job posting for the position I had been interviewed for. Disappointment set in when I saw that it was a new posting and I thought all was lost. My faith shrank, as I really wanted the job. But I told the Lord that if this is the job He has for me, it will come to pass, and if it isn’t, He could close the door and teach me to accept His decision.
Three days later, I received a call to go for the third interview! I went for the third interview confessing His grace and favor and the next day, the head of the human resource department called me to ask about my desired pay package. It was surprising to be asked what I wanted.
Boldly, I stated what I was comfortable with, although I wasn’t very confident that my proposal would be accepted since I did not have the necessary experience. But I remembered God’s Word: ask and you shall receive. I’m now working in the new company based on the terms I’d asked for. Praise the Lord!
God is good, all the time. He knows what is best for us and will open the right doors—even if all seems impossible. I thank the Lord and all glory be to Him.
