Resting In Jesus’ Favor For A Blessed Music Assignment
I am a music school student, and in our second and third years, one of our compulsory assignments is music composition.
Unfortunately, since the time I was young, I had never exposed myself to music composition. As a result, I did not know the rules of music composition until I had to do composition assignments in school. And the only feedback I got from my lecturers was where I could improve on it and to redo whatever they were not happy with.
As part of my examination last semester, I was given a month to hand in a music composition assignment. It was checked by my lecturer twice and rejected both times. After the second rejection, I was given only two weeks to redo the assignment and hand it in.
I went home after class that day and felt prompted to browse through Pastor Prince’s sermons. I randomly clicked on a sermon video entitled, Will God Help Us With Troubles Of Our Own Making? I was moved by the message that Daddy God loves me, and I knew that He would definitely help me no matter how weak I was or how short a time I had to complete the assignment. I believed the Romans 5:20 verse that Pastor Prince shared in that sermon, and I started to rest in Jesus by applying Matthew 6:25–34 as I worked on my assignment.
On the day that I was to hand in my assignment, I prayed for God’s favor and protection to be upon the assignment. Within a few months, I received the news that I did not have to redo the assignment.
I believed that this was not my own effort, and that it was completely Jesus who gave me this breakthrough. It’s amazing how God’s grace can cause whatever we do to prosper when we just rest in Him. All glory to Jesus!
