Secure In God’s Love, Relationship With Mother Restored
I grew up in a legalistic church where mistakes were pointed out in a public setting. As such, I became sin-conscious, depressed, and suicidal all the time, and would always ask the Lord if He loved me.
My mother rebuked me for every mistake I made and compared me with my siblings who performed better in school. She told me I was stubborn, useless, and a failure. I was very attached to my mother but I became so afraid of her that I would refrain from getting too close or loving toward her. I feared that if I failed her, her words would hurt me deeply.
One day, I read Pastor Prince’s book, Grace Revolution, and everything started to change. I learned that God loves me with an everlasting love and does not keep a record of my sins. He sees me completely righteous and forgiven through the cross, and I can always come boldly to the throne of His grace to obtain mercy (see Heb. 4:16).
My relationship with my mother has improved. She is now nicer and calmer toward me, and does not say words that hurt me anymore. My love for my mother has also been restored.
Also, God answered my prayer to reserve a pair of my favorite shoes in my size. They were newly launched in stores and widely popular. When I arrived late at a store, there was only one pair left and they were in my size! I knew it was the grace of God working in my favor.
All glory to God for His love, mercy, and grace. Thank you, Pastor Prince, for preaching the message of grace and unveiling the loveliness of Jesus.
