Set Free From Addictions And Love Of Money

Pastor Prince, I am a woman who has grown to know Jesus more and more every day because of your love for Christ and how you always point me to Him.

I was raised in an abusive family with drugs and alcohol. I proceeded with the same lifestyle as an adult. I was trapped in a cycle of prostitution and drug addiction. Fifteen years of this lifestyle brought me to abort a child, lose another, and give up three girls for adoption. Then another five years of living this way saw me in jail. I desperately needed help.

I went to a Bible study meeting and the pastor spoke of Jesus. I cried out and said there was no way for me to start afresh and no treatments could help me as I’d failed three of those. I prayed in jail and asked God to show me the way out. I promised to turn my life over to Him. I told the Lord to give me a man who is rooted in the Word of Jesus.

God gave me a man who has brought me closer to Jesus. We married and started our journey as a homeless couple. Once we got on our feet, I was able to watch you again. You see, the first time I saw you, I was in the home of an enabler. At that time, I was so tired and was seeking a way out. I wanted to know God then but did not know about Jesus. Now, I long to hear your sermons. Even my husband said, “This pastor is the pastor for you.”

Pastor Prince, I have been set free from drug addictions, prostitution, and the love for money. When you preached on 1 Peter 2:5–7 in one of your messages, I could only cry. My husband had told me that the Lord shared with him 1 Peter 2:9 and showed him how it was my story. So when I heard your sermon, I finally understood what that passage really means. I know that I have been brought out of the darkness into the marvelous light because of the precious sacrifice of Jesus, my Lord and Savior.

The Lord has also restored me with a son. In addition, I have graduated as a medical assistant and my family is well provided for. Pastor Prince, you are preaching to my heart the words of God and drawing me so close to Jesus. All I want to do is share the same love you have for Jesus with others. Praise be to God for sending His only Son to die for those who need life and to set them free. All glory to God!
