Early one morning, my husband was driving us home and I felt uneasy. I didn’t know why, so I just kept confessing, “Jesus, I rest in Your finished work on the cross.” I kept my thoughts on Jesus’ sacrifice and how He died to give me peace.

As my husband and I were getting off the highway, I saw a truck approaching the same intersection we were heading to. I noticed that it was not slowing down and I assumed that my husband saw the truck and was going to slow down, even though the traffic light was green in our favor.

It was five in the morning and we were both tired. I did not say anything as I really thought my husband was aware of the fast-approaching truck and would slow down. By the time I realized that he wasn’t going to slow down, it was too late for me to alert him.

But in the very last second, he stopped the car and we watched the truck barrel through the red light at more than forty miles per hour.

God’s grace was there, keeping us safe. He protected us from harm and we witnessed it with our own eyes. I don’t know how He triggered my husband to stop the car at the last moment, but He did. I knew it was supernatural because after my husband stopped the car, he said he didn’t see the truck coming.

I believe that the amount of grace we experience in our lives is proportional to the amount of gospel truth we receive into our hearts. The truths I’ve received in my heart are these: God loves me and will never leave or forsake me (see Heb. 13:5). I shall call upon Him and He will answer me; He will be with me in trouble; with long life He will satisfy me and show me His salvation (see Ps. 91:15–16).

The Lord continues to keep us safe and will satisfy us with a long, blessed life. I know He protects even the hairs on our heads. He truly is a faithful and loving God.
