My 14-year-old son, Elijah, had complained of a bad headache. When I touched his forehead, I realized he was having a fever. Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, I did not want to take any chances so I immediately called his pediatrician and had him tested for the virus.

Upon reaching home, I immediately prayed Psalm 91 with Elijah. My adult daughter and I also partook of the holy Communion and prayed for him. We declared that just as Jesus is, so are we in this world.

Praise the Lord, by 9:30pm that evening, Elijah’s fever broke without the use of fever relievers! His headache also left and by the next day, he was completely symptom-free.

Two days later, however, the doctor informed us that Elijah had tested positive for COVID-19. That news upset me. I became afraid the other members in our family of 8 (inclusive of our 5 children and my elderly mother) might contract the virus as well.

I am so grateful to the Lord for His grace and mercy. Despite being tested positive for the virus, my son displayed no other worrying symptom apart from the initial fever and headache that never came back.

Throughout the whole time he had the virus, he remained symptom-free. More importantly, no one else in our family developed any symptoms or became sick, including my mom. Even when my husband and I went to get ourselves tested for the virus, our tests came back negative for COVID-19.

It has been more than 2 months now since Elijah came down with the fever and we have all remained well and symptom-free. Where I live—a COVID-19 hotspot—this is extraordinary. Many families go on to develop the disease one by one and become sick once someone in the household contracts it.

As someone who has been following Joseph Prince’s teachings on the holy Communion, the anointing oil, and Psalm 91, I am confident it was God's grace that protected us from this deadly disease.

The Lord led us to start praying Psalm 91 as a family back in November 2019 (before I had even heard of COVID-19), and we have been praying Psalm 91 ever since. I also taught my teen children (including Elijah) about the Communion, and we have been partaking of the Lord’s Supper as a family. We’ve also applied anointing oil on ourselves, our home, and our cars during this pandemic.

I am so thankful for the teachings we have received. Most of all, I’m so thankful to my Lord and Savior, Jesus. He is our High Priest, our redeemer, and our righteousness. And He is so good!
