Teen Touched By Grace Leaves Gang
My fifteen-year-old son befriended a boy in his high school who did not have any friends for more than a year. The boy came over to our home one weekend as they had to complete a school assignment together.
After supper, my daughter, son, his friend, and I spent some time at the table together. We started talking about the Bible and the boy immediately started asking questions. I took the opportunity to share with him about Jesus, what He did on the cross, and how He was bruised for all our sins. I also told the boy that once he becomes a child of God, God will not remember his sins anymore.
The boy wanted to know more. I tried my best to show him the Father’s love for him and how he was special to God. Tears ran down his cheeks and he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, right there in our kitchen! Praise the Lord!
He said he felt really good—something he had never experienced in his life before. He also revealed that he had been struggling a lot with temper issues, even experienced blackouts, and had been in numerous fights inside and outside of school.
The following Monday, my son told me that his friend had become like a brand-new person. He was smiling and very calm in class. The boy also withdrew from a gang he’d joined out of loneliness. In fact, the gang didn’t want him because he no longer wanted to smoke and drink with them anymore.
No laws or condemnation were placed on this boy; just the pure love of our Lord Jesus, which touched this young’s man heart and changed him from the inside out. All praise to our almighty God—He truly sets us free!
Thank you, Pastor Prince, for sharing the good news of the gospel so openly. The gospel truly changes lives!
